Straumann’s manufacturing facility at Villeret in the Jura region of Canton Bern, Switzerland, is devoted to the production of dental implant system components that are exported to more than 70 countries around the world. Villeret is one of the largest state-of-the-art facilities in the dental implant sector and currently produces more than 5 million implant system components per year.
Since its inauguration in August 2000, the facility has expanded significantly to cater for the growing global demand for modern tooth replacement solutions. Only recently, an additional storey was built to manufacture Straumann’s innovative implant surface technology, SLActive®, which significantly reduces implant healing times. Production has also been ramped up for the company’s unique high strength implant material Roxolid®.
Straumann has more than tripled its workforce in Villeret since the plant went into operation in 2000. The site is one of the region’s major employers.
