Reducing risk and stress in modern implant dentistry and Successful decision-making process in implant dentistry
Dentists regularly face the decision of what to do after tooth extraction. Millions of extractions occur globally without clear guidelines on the safest, most effective treatments. Success in esthetic implant dentistry hinges on correct decision-making post-extraction.
Presentation focuses on three key strategies:
- Alveolar ridge preservation
- Immediate implant placement
- Delayed or late implant placement
Advantages and limitations of each technique will be discussed.Emphasis on improving esthetic outcomes with anterior implants while minimizing risks and stress. The lecture covers scientific background and clinical concepts for immediate implants. Attendees will learn how to make clear decisions on implant timing and manage hard- and soft-tissue for long-term success.

About the speaker
Prof. Ronald E. Jung is trained in prosthodontics, implant therapy and oral surgery. He is the Chairman and Clinic Director for the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, at the Center for Dental Medicine, University of Zürich, Switzerland.
In 2006 he worked as Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, USA.
2008 he finalized his „Habilitation“ (venia legendi) in dental medicine and was appointed at the University of Zürich.
In 2011 he received his PhD doctorate degree of the University of Amsterdam, ACTA dental school, The Netherlands.
In 2013 he worked as Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, USA.
In 2015 he has been promoted to full Professorship for Implantology at the University of Zurich and was Head of the Division of Implantology at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, Center for Dental Medicine, University of Zurich, until January 2022.
In 2022 he has been appointed Chairman and Ordinary Professor for Reconstructive Dentistry at the University of Zürich.
He is an accomplished and internationally renowned lecturer and researcher, best known for his work in the field of hard and soft tissue management and his research on new technologies in implant dentistry.
He is currently President of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), Past President of the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry and member of the Board of Directors of the Osteology.
