Demystifying the Immediate Implants;
Molars and the Esthetic Zone

The contemporary oral and maxillofacial surgery practice should routinely treat failing teeth with immediate implants. This presentation will demystify the soft and hard tissue evaluation for the treatment planning of immediate implants in the esthetic zone. The various techniques for the fabrication of the immediate provisional will also be discussed. Immediate placements of implants in molar and premolar sites will also be reviewed. Understanding the role of implant micro and macro design is critical for achieving the insertion torque needed for immediate implant placement. Understanding site preparation, undersizing is also critical in order to consistently gain initial stability for immediate implants placed in the esthetic zone as well as the posterior quadrants. This presentation will also discuss the role of bone grafting including the pros and cons of autogenous, allografts as well as xenografts.

Going with The (Work)Flow - Collaborative Strategies for Optimizing
Surgical and Prosthetic Outcomes

Surgeons and restorative doctors have a number of different workflows available to them that may be employed to arrive at an implant-supported restoration. Each surgical-restorative team will have their own preferred workflow. Also, each patient situation requires its own customized workflow to optimize the end result. The key is that the team works in a collaborative and communicative fashion to determine which workflow is best for each situation. The often-overlooked member of the team, the laboratory technician, is ideally included in this collaborative effort to achieve the best possible result for the most important member of the team: the patient. In this presentation, surgical-prosthetic-technical workflows that include reverse-scan technology (RevEx®), grammetry (EXACT®), photogrammetry (ICam®) and anatomic healing abutments (AHA®) will be discussed.
