Production facilities

We provide the same quality and manufacturing standards for all our products from bone to crown – from surgical implants to prosthetic components, from CADCAM-based products to products for oral tissue regeneration.

Global production

The Straumann Group manufactures implant system components and instruments in Villeret (Switzerland) and Andover (USA), and dental tissue regeneration products in Malmö (Sweden). The tooth restoration products are produced in Europe and the US.

Production in Villeret (Switzerland)

Straumann’s manufacturing facility in Villeret (Switzerland) is devoted to the production of components and instruments for the Straumann® Dental Implant System. Straumann has considerably expanded its workforce in Villeret since the plant went into operation in 2000. Villeret is one of the largest state-of-the-art facilities in the dental implant sector and currently produces more than five million components per year. The site is one of the region’s major employers.

Production in Andover (USA)

The US subsidiary in Andover, Massachusetts, houses Straumann’s first manufacturing unit outside Switzerland and also produces implant system components and instruments. The 7 400-square-meter (80 000-square-foot) production area has been set up according to the rigorous quality requirements of the Villeret facility to guarantee Straumann quality made in the US.

Production in Malmö (Sweden)

Our production unit in Malmö is devoted primarily to the specialized manufacture of products for tissue regeneration.

Production in Arlington (USA), Leipzig and Gräfelfing (Germany)

These three Straumann facilities focus on the production of CADCAM-related products. The units in Leipzig and Arlington are milling centers for high-precision CADCAM prosthetics. The Straumann® CARES® Scan CS2 scanner is assembled in Gräfelfing.
