George Pelekos

MUDR. George Pelekos, after the completion of his studies in the Medical faculty of Masaryk University in the Czech Republic, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MUDr.) with an MSc in the area of oral pathology. Later in 2006 (MClinDent), he began his training in a full-time program and completed his specialization degree in Periodontology (2009) at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London (UCL). A few months later, he was accredited as a certified Periodontist by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). The year after, he was registered as a Specialist in Periodontology with the General Dental Council in the UK. In 2020 he completed his Ph.D. at Tohoku University in Japan. George has been lecturing worldwide and is a member of several scientific organizations (EFP, ITI, IADR). He is also holding a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons (Glg), and he serves as a trainer for the College of Dental Surgeons in Hong Kong and a visiting professor at Kings College London and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. He has published extensively in reputable international peer-reviewed journals and he has also secured different research grants as the principal or Co/Investigator (18,5M HKD). In addition, he is currently. 

Currently, he is the Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Periodontology postgraduate program at HKU, the only program outside Europe accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).
