Description

Implants for the General Dentist is an ongoing, interactive study club that includes detailed lectures, hands-on surgical activities, implant protocol review, case presentations, and live-patient treatment. It covers all didactic and clinical aspects of surgical implant placement and restoration and is designed to develop participants' skills over time and at a rate tailored to their needs. For example, participants may choose to focus on treatment planning and restorative procedures with a slower entry into surgical procedures; whereas, others will conduct surgical procedures after the first few sessions. Implants for the General Dentist also includes surgical training for assistants, periodontal maintenance training for hygienists, CBCT software training, and review of consents and post-operative instructions. This course fulfills the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Foundation and Intermediate Curriculum didactic and hands-on requirements and prepares students to sit for the ITI Curriculum Foundation and Intermediate exams. The ITI exams can be taken for an additional fee payable to the ITI directly. Participants who pass the exam will receive a certificate of completion from the ITI.
