Patients requesting smile makeovers nowadays are not the same as before; they are extremely demanding. This can be attributed to one simple and specific reason: their access to information. Patients either come using very technical terms such as “Lithium Disilicate” or “Feldspathic porcelain,” or they often bring an Instagram photo of someone else’s smile, asking to replicate that look… This situation has placed us in a challenging position. As professionals, we must provide the right amount of information not only to satisfy patients’ perception of a beautiful smile suited to their physique and to eventually accept a treatment plan but also, to reproduce with precision what we have previously shown them as the expected result. That’s why I have created a very thorough and systematic process with the help of Smilecloud technology and 3D printing. This gives us the possibility to present physical mockups that accurately depict the digital simulation and to deliver results that not only meet but also exceed our patients’ expectations.
