Current developments in implantology in recent years have significantly changed the requirements and wishes of patients concerning implant treatment. Implants no longer simply have to be osseointegrated, but instead, have to be inserted in the ideal position according to a prosthetic treatment concept. As a result, most implant treatments require some kind of bone augmentation. The implantologist has a wide range of options and materials to choose from. It is important to use these various methods correctly and to reduce morbidity for the patient. Sinus floor elevation, guided tissue regeneration, autologous bone transplantation, or allogeneic bone blocks - what are the indications? Is autologous bone irreplaceable as the gold standard or do we now have equivalent methods available? What do allogeneic bone replacement materials do and how safe is their usage? This online lecture will address this topic by showing numerous clinical pictures and videos. 1.
