“We are doing everything we can to provide our customers with the best possible support during the pandemic period. One of the many projects we have initiated for them is the short-term production of face visors with our 3D printers in Markkleeberg. Because together we are strong”, says Andreas Utz, Country Manager Straumann Germany.
The “Print2Protect” project started in April as a reaction to the dynamic development of COVID-19 that has triggered a high demand for protective masks in the medical sector. The goal was to provide the best possible support for dental practices and thus to prevent the closure of practices due to the lack of protective clothing.
The face visors produced are based on a design developed by the German University Clinic Freiburg. They are recyclable and can be cleaned – but they are no medical devices and thus no guarantee can be given with regard to functionality and security. Straumann Germany handed them out free of charge. However, customers could donate to a project of WorldVision that aims to containing the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Print2Protect has been very well accepted by the customers and was very successful until completion of the project.
