Seamless connectivity between 3Shape TRIOS® intraoral scanners and Straumann’s esthetic dental solutions

Straumann and 3Shape are proud to announce the full integration of the 3Shape TRIOS® intraoral scanning workflow with the Straumann Group’s software solutions and services. This means that 3Shape’s TRIOS® intra-oral scanners can connect seamlessly with Straumann’s orthodontic, restorative, implant, chairside, and digital dentistry solutions at the click of a button.

3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner

Intraoral scanning is a convenient modern alternative to unpleasant conventional methods of taking impressions of the patient’s teeth. 3Shape’s TRIOS® range of intraoral scanners is widely recognized as industry-leading technology, offering accurate, ultra-fast, powderless scanning in full-color, with digital shade measurement, an integrated intraoral camera and caries detection aid1. The scanners are open for use with multiple systems but in combination with Straumann’s broad digital ecosystem, which spans corrective, restorative and replacement dentistry, they become part of a uniquely powerful solution.

Most recently, the focus has been on orthodontics and developing a smooth, integrated workflow for TRIOS users to plan and order ClearCorrect clear aligners2. The new application is now ready and is included in the latest software update that has just been released. ClearCorrect offers free education and support to help dentists provide clear-aligner treatment using digital impressions.

In the new TRIOS workflow, dentists simply select the ClearCorrect option and scan their patients. The scans together with case information are routed immediately and conveniently to ClearCorrect’s Doctor Portal. The system also has convenient features enabling the dentist to show patients simulations of their teeth after aligner and whitening treatment.

coDiagnostiX®

In addition to the orthodontic solution, TRIOS is fully integrated into the following Straumann Group solutions:

  • the CARES® CADCAM software for designing and milling prosthetics for tooth and implant-borne restorations,
  • the coDiagnostiX® software for planning guided implant surgery, and
  • centralized design services such as ‘Smile in a Box’, in which all implant and prosthetic components are conveniently delivered together, saving time and costs and adding to patient comfort.
