Anton Sculean has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief of the leading scientific dental journal, Periodontology 2000.
Professor and Chair of the Department of Periodontology and Head of Research in the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Bern in Switzerland, Anton Sculean will take up his new role starting January 2022.
“It is indeed a true honor for me to be appointed as editor-in-chief of such a prestigious journal,” declared Prof Sculean to EFP.org, who last year was the recipient of the Distinguished Scientist Award for Research in Periodontal Disease presented by the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).
Professor Sculean is the author or co-author of over 430 scientific studies, including almost 100 publications* referring to our signature regenerative product, Straumann® Emdogain®. Moreover, on May 6th Anton Sculean hosted the anniversary webinar “Emdogain 25 years: Biological concepts for improved clinical outcomes”, which is available for free access via CampusLive, Straumann’s platform for global online events.
