#yogatowin Yoga for a good cause

WIN Newsletter September 2021

WIN South East Asia has regularly promoted activities that emphasize the value of networking among women in implantology. On July 25 we organized a rather unusual webinar—an online yoga session with a charity theme—that attracted broad participation from South East Asia, India and even Europe.

This event was a collaboration with Ancora Imparo (ancoraimparo.training), a dental education platform in Malaysia that is also a CoDE (Center of Dental Education) headed by Dr. Jeanette Chua, the WIN SEA Director.

This event tagged many objectives, with the main one supporting a corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity. We collaborated with Project Nanhi Kali (nanhikali.org), a very successful charity project in India that focuses on girls’ education. Project Nanhi Kali provides holistic support for underprivileged girls, from accessing school to learning tools, to—as these girls grow through their teenage years—the right hygiene kits to allow them to attend their classes with dignity.

Every #yogatowin registration was an automatic contribution to this cause, and we were able to raise a total of 1,570 SGD. The contribution was boosted by Dr. Marlene Teo donating her honorarium fee and by Dr. Jeanette Chua doubling up the amount, raising the fund up to 4,140 SGD.

The name #yogatowin was chosen as we randomly selected 5 winners from the participation group. The winners received an ITI World Symposium Ticket and one Elite Membership Program at Ancora Imparo, a prize worth 500 SGD – plus the unrivaled feeling of having helped girls to get an education.
