CoDE – a global network of clinical experts bridging the gap between evidence-based treatment and real-world practice

As of June 2023, there are 30 Straumann Centers of Dental Education (CoDEs) in 20 countries. The mission of each of these independent CoDEs is two-fold: to create healthy smiles that fulfill patient expectations and to educate other dental professionals by exposing them to a variety of clinical situations that reflect the reality of daily practice. The first CoDE Global Online Symposium will take place in July 2023.

Sharing the same ambition for excellence

The CoDE network is a group of 30 independent dental clinics all over the world that have been selected and evaluated by Straumann experts and that share the same ambition: to offer truly excellent levels of dental healthcare, while applying the most advanced treatment procedures and the latest technology. CoDEs host highly skilled dental professionals who provide top-notch dental education in a variety of formats. In addition to aiming for clinical excellence, there is also a common value of best practice sharing, where each clinician contributes from different strengths and skill sets, complementing each other and resulting in a solid clinical expert group.

CoDE book in collaboration with the ITI: “Patient-centered approaches in the real world”

When based on authentic situations and real patient problems, case-based learning is a powerful tool. The CoDE clinical book "Patient-Centered Approaches in the Real World" was recently published in collaboration with Straumann’s scientific partner, the ITI (International Team for Implantology), and Quintessence Publishing.

"The ITI advocates evidence-based and patient-centered treatment approaches to implant therapy. Our aim is to achieve safe, predictable, long-term stable treatment outcomes for the benefit of our patients. We welcome patient-centered approaches in the real world as an important contribution towards the uptake of the ITI philosophy".

Charlotte Stilwell, ITI President

The book aims to inspire the dental community by demonstrating how implant dentistry can restore confidence and improve the overall wellbeing of individuals. Each patient in this book presented to the clinic with a chief complaint affecting their quality of life – and each regained their confidence through expertly delivered interdisciplinary treatment and solutions tailored to their needs. The book includes not only clinical cases, but also tips and tricks that are ready to apply and that are the result of the broad clinical experience of the CoDE expert group. An online version of this book will be available in the second half of 2023.

And the next big opportunity to dive into the CoDE experience is on July 7th with the first CoDE Global Online Symposium focused on Immediate treatments and digital workflows. This event will be hosted on Campus Live and will include a series of five engaging lectures delivered by renowned clinicians in the field, followed by a live panel discussion.
