Emilio Couso-Queiruga

Dr. med. dent, DDS, MS American board-certified periodontist and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Adjunct faculty member in the Department of Family Dentistry at the University of Iowa, USA. He obtained his DDS and MSc degrees from the University of Granada, Spain, and subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Iowa, where he also earned a Master’s degree in Oral Sciences and a Certificate in Periodontics. He was granted an ITI scholarship at the University of Bern, where he further pursued advanced clinical and academic training in oral surgery and received the degree of Dr. med. dent. His research centers on periodontology and oral surgery, with a particular focus on extraction site management, evaluation of the periodontal and peri-implant phenotype and its clinical implications, as well as the integration of digital imaging techniques and digital workflows in clinical practice.
