Daniel Rothamel

Daniel Rothamel is a professor of maxillofacial and plastic surgery at the University Hospital of Dusseldorf, Germany. After studying dentistry at the dental school in Dusseldorf from 1997 to 2001, Prof. Rothamel went to medical school in Dusseldorf and specialized in oral surgery from 2002 to 2007. Following graduation in 2007 he participated in a DAAD scholarship program at the University of Sydney, Australia. He specialized in oral and maxillofacial plastic surgery at the University of Cologne from 2008-2013, Germany and was senior chief resident from 2013 – 2016. Prof. Rothamel focuses on research into biomaterials for implant dentistry with a special interest in collagen. The topic of his PhD thesis was the regeneration of mandibular defects using bone substitute materials and growth factors. He is a reviewer for several international journals and has published more than 100 national and international peer-reviewed papers.
