In 2017, the revenue of the Straumann Group exceeded CHF 1bn, rising 21% (16% organic), while the operating margin expanded to 26%.

Rocking dentistry at the IDS 2017 in Cologne

At the IDS 2017 in Cologne, Straumann has really rocked dentistry. The booth this year featured an innovation cube which took visitors into the future of dentistry in virtual reality. The cube also served as a musical venue that literally rocked the show.

4-day surgical event with 22 patients in Warsaw

March 2016: together with our Polish Distributor, Schmidtdental (www.schmidt-dental.pl), Straumann set up a 4-day surgical event with 22 patients (27 edentulous jaw cases) in Warsaw. Lead by Dr. Krzysztof Chmielewski, 15 selected clinicians took part in this event, which put to the test of daily practice the Straumann® Bone Level Tapered Implant (BLT) in combination with Straumann® Guided Surgery (now BLT-ready) and the Straumann® Pro Arch solution. One of the key goals was to provide these top surgeons with a unique clinical experience to fully convince them of the Straumann solutions.

Excellent results for Straumann in independent peri-implantitis study

Excellent results for Straumann in independent peri-implantitis study: in a large retrospective study of dental implants in a broad clinical setting (427 patients, 1578 implants from various manufacturers, 9-year follow-up),  significantly lower odds ratios for moderate/severe peri-implantitis with Straumann Tissue Level SLA implants than with the other implant systems were evaluated. The study published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Dental Research Findings is highly relevant for dentists who base their choice of implant on independent clinical evidence.
