What exactly do I have to submit? I read about a video, but I don’t understand what should be in the video.

An entry consists of completing the required Case Gallery submission fields, which include a complete online treatment summary report, before and after photos, as well as a video. The video should be a max. of 4 mins in length, contain some clinical explanation of the case and most importantly the patient testimonial of how the treatment changed her/his life! I don’t have video footage of the office vists. How can I submit my case?

That’s not a problem. We are not looking for a video documentation of the clinical office vists. The final submission is a video but can be made simply with a collection of images and the patient testimonial.

I don’t have video making skills, how can I create a video?

Do not worry, we don’t expect a cinema competition! The video can be made simply – for example also transforming a PowerPoint presentation into a video.

I have several cases that fit the criteria, may I submit more than once?

Of course!!! We welcome and encourage you to submit several cases to increase your chance of winning!  

My patient does not speak English. How can I create the testimonial?

We completely understand that the patient might not speak English and that is not a problem. Please just ensure you add subtitles so the jury can understand the testimonial.

What will the jury assess to choose the winners?

The jury will consider the diagnosis and treatment plan, the clinical and biomechanical principles, the precision on execution (initial situation, final result, grading of difficulty, clinical management, total treatment time, and patient experience during treatment), the quality of the clinical documentation, and the impressions and feelings and the impact of the treatment on the patient esthetic, function, health and quality of life.

I used products from another brand in the treatment, can I participate?

In order to be eligible for the ClearCorrect SmileAward 2022, only cases where ClearCorrect clear aligners were used throughout the treatment will be accepted. By entering the contest, you confirm that you have only used ClearCorrect clear aligners (and no other clear aligner brand) for the treatment.

I already have an intra oral scanner, can I have another prize option instead?

There are several prize possibilities in this contest. There are 3 categories: #givingsmilesback – these are prizes related to pro bono cases; #changinglives—these are donations to NGOs; and #boostyourpractice—these prizes are tangible prizes such as IOS and Treatment Planning Services. Should you be ranked amongst the top 8, you will be able to choose your prize amongst these categories.

In my country there are legal restrictions with regards to prizes. Does it still make sense for me to participate?

Of course! We are aware that some countries have legal regulations that don’t allow receiving tangible prizes. For this reason, should you win, you will be able to choose your prize among several options, including pro bono cases and charity donations.
