In this issue, the Editor’s Choice is the article published in the Clin Oral Investig., “Inter-implant distance and buccal bone thickness for a novel implant design: a preclinical study” authored by Stephen Chen and Ivan Darby.
The authors assessed bone height between novel tapered implants at different inter-implant thread peak distances and the impact of thread peak distance from outer buccal bone on marginal bone levels. They found that inter-implant bone height between adjacent implants can be maintained even at an inter-implant thread peak distance as low as 1 mm.
