Popis

The Campbell Academy's flagship Year One Implant Course is a 12-day course that has helped hundreds of UK dentists begin their implant careers, and now it's available in Scotland.

Since 2015, The Campbell Academy has provided extensive implant dentistry courses for general practitioners in Nottingham; now, we're bringing the same opportunity to Scotland.

Our Year Implant Course is a clearly designed and developed, straightforward implant course based on the well-accepted ITI guidelines. It provides various educational opportunities to enable general dental practitioners to confidently assess, plan, and execute straightforward implant cases.

Delegates will have the opportunity during the clinical days to place dental implants on patients at Atelier Dentistry in Glasgow and will be followed through their journey to ensure they reach a situation where they’re confident to begin their surgical and restorative implant careers.

This allows practitioners to begin their implant journey in a safe and secure environment.

The resources available for this course enable a range of educational interactions, including peer-to-peer education on an innovative online discussion framework, integration with the ITI curriculum, face-to-face teaching, practical exercises, live surgery, and mentoring.

Dundee offers an ideal central location. Placing the course in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Aberdeen would require significant travel for those based in the other cities. Dundee, however, sits roughly equidistant from all three, making it far more accessible for clinicians across Scotland, especially compared to travelling to Nottingham.

Through the amazing support of our partners, Wrights, and our Clinical Director of Education for Scotland and Ireland, Professor Colin Burns, we can offer the same fantastic introductory course in implant dentistry in Scotland as we do here in Nottingham

Key features of the course

1. Exceptional clinical faculty from academic and practice backgrounds provide the broadest possible range of educational opportunities.

2. A course that is heaped full of hands-on and practical elements to get you better at basic surgical skills and into implant placement as soon as possible. This includes three clinical days for delegates to work on patients.

3. Access to a certificate on completion of the courses - ITI Foundation Level Certificate in Implant Dentistry

4. Digital mentoring for the entirety of the course, supporting you through your first implant cases.

5. State-of-the-art training facilities for the course are based in Dundee and Glasgow, Scotland.

6. Twelve days of teaching over 9 months, including lecture-based teaching, discussion groups, hands-on practical sessions, further reading opportunities, evidence-based discussion, full clinical exposure to patients in a supervised environment, and mentoring opportunities in a structured nationwide mentoring program aligned with GDC guidance.

7. Entry into a clinical mentoring network group, developed by The Campbell Academy.

8. Online collaboration and discussion between delegates and faculty between course modules to learn as much as possible.

9. Access to an ITI Classroom, containing a vast library of additional resources to complement the material we provide directly here at The Campbell Academy.

£11,700.00 including VAT

The course fee is paid through a £1,980 deposit followed by monthly instalments across the duration of the course.

Vzdělávací cíle

Aims

To provide a comprehensive foundation in implant dentistry covering both theoretical and practical elements of the discipline giving delegates the confidence they need to begin placing implants at their own practice.

Objectives

By the end of the course each delegate will:

1. Have a solid foundation in the scientific basis of implant dentistry.

2. Be able to assess patients comprehensively to provide dental implants as a treatment option. This will include appropriate special tests, the ability to report CBCT scans, and the ability to apply this to multi-disciplinary patient cases.

3. Be able to provide straightforward implant surgical treatment to patients under supervision, including all planning aspects and post-operative care (in accordance with the SAC classification).

4. Be able to provide restorative treatments to straightforward implant cases, including single units and straightforward bridge work. This will include impression taking, abutment selection and restoration selection.

5.Develop an appreciation for how dental implants can be utilised within their own practices to provide more comprehensive care to their patients and effectively market this accordingly.
