RAINER SCHLEGEL

Rainer Schlegel serves as Director and Head of the Straumann Group Foundation, leading the Foundation's strategy, operations, and global partnerships to expand sustainable access to oral healthcare for underserved communities. Working closely with the Board, employees, partners, and local organizations, he is responsible for translating the Foundation's vision into scalable programs that create measurable and lasting social impact.

Rainer brings more than 30 years of international leadership experience across healthcare, medical technology, branding, and communications. He combines strategic leadership with expertise in partnership development, organizational growth, and purpose-driven brand building, helping position the Foundation as a trusted partner within the global oral health ecosystem.

Before assuming his current role in 2025, Rainer served as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Digital Communications at Straumann Group, where he led the company's global brand and communications strategy during a period of international growth and digital transformation. Prior to joining Straumann, he held senior leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson's DePuy Synthes as well as in the healthcare, e-business, and logistics sectors.

Rainer believes that lasting social impact is created through strong partnerships, local leadership, and sustainable solutions. He is committed to bringing together the expertise of the private sector, nonprofit organizations, and dental professionals to help make oral healthcare more accessible for people around the world.
