Broadly known in Latin Americas and shared in the social channels but hardly known in the rest of the world: an important initiative of the Straumann Group brand Neodent and their philanthropic activity Expedição Novos Sorrisos. As Straumann Group Foundation we want to share this program globally as great example of impact that has been created.
Across Brazil, millions of people live in regions where access to even the most basic dental care is extremely limited. Since 2016, Expedição Novos Sorrisos has been committed to changing that reality. What began as the “Neodent Truck” has evolved into a nationwide social initiative bringing free, high-quality oral care to vulnerable populations.
But many communities cannot be reached by road at all — especially those deep in the Amazon, in riverside villages, islands, or indigenous territories. To reach them, Expedição Novos Sorrisos has started to partner with Barco Sorriso, a non-profit organization that operates dental and medical missions by boat across remote regions of the Brazilian Amazon.
Together, these initiatives allow Neodent and the Straumann Group to expand their social impact from the highways into the heart of the rainforest.
