Improve Oral Health Access in Peru

A new partnership between the Straumann Group Foundation and the Suyana Foundation

Basel and Zug, Switzerland / Lima, Peru, August 2025 – The Straumann Group Foundation and the Suyana Foundation are proud to announce a new strategic partnership aimed at strengthening access to dental care in underserved communities in Peru.

The collaboration includes the establishment of a fully equipped Dental Care Station in Yanatile – a rural district in the Andean foothills of the Cusco region – and the deployment of two mobile dental clinics. Together, these services will bring high-quality oral health care directly to remote communities in Cusco, Apurímac, and Puno, where access is limited or non-existent and where the Suyana Foundation has a long-standing presence. Over the course of the project, more than 5,000 individuals are expected to benefit from these services. These mobile units will serve as fully functional dental practices on wheels, operated by local professionals and supported by the expertise and resources of both organizations

We are proud to work alongside the Suyana Foundation, whose deep local engagement and commitment to lasting impact perfectly aligns with our mission. Together, we are taking a bold step toward ensuring that even the most remote communities can access the dental care they deserve.

Rainer Schlegel Director, Straumann Group Foundation

This initiative is part of the Straumann Group Foundation’s global mission to promote oral health equity and empower communities through sustainable, community-based solutions. For the Suyana Foundation, this partnership represents a powerful extension of its long-standing work in improving healthcare and education in rural regions of Peru.

The project is set to launch in October 2025, with long-term plans to expand services and certified training programs for local dental professionals —ensuring the model is both impactful and sustainable.
