Straumann Group Foundation and United Way of Mumbai launch Muskaan Oral Care to expand access to oral health in India.

The Straumann Group Foundation (SGF), in partnership with United Way of Mumbai (UWM) and with the support of the Straumann Group India team, is launching Muskaan Oral Care, a new mobile dental outreach program designed to improve access to oral healthcare for underserved communities in Mumbai and Karjat, India. “Muskaan,” the Hindi word for “smile,” reflects the program’s focus on promoting confidence, dignity and access to essential oral healthcare.

The initiative is part of SGF’s India Dental Care Program and focuses on delivering preventive care, oral health education, screenings and essential dental treatment directly within communities where access to affordable oral healthcare remains limited.

Through two fully equipped mobile dental units, Muskaan Oral Care will provide community dental camps, school-based oral health programs, oral cancer screenings, preventive services and referral pathways for patients requiring advanced treatment. Over the coming years, the program aims to reach thousands of individuals, with a particular focus on underserved populations including children, women, elderly populations, migrant workers and people with disabilities.

The program reflects a shared commitment to prevention-focused, community-based care and sustainable long-term impact. Alongside treatment, Muskaan Oral Care places strong emphasis on awareness, education and early detection to help strengthen oral health outcomes within local communities.
