Maidstone, Kent – June 2026.
Representatives from the Straumann Group Foundation visited a Dentaid mobile dental clinic at the Mountbatten Pavilion in Maidstone, Kent, on Thursday 11 June 2026, witnessing first-hand the vital role that mobile dental services play in improving access to oral healthcare for vulnerable communities.
The Mountbatten Pavilion is a temporary housing facility providing accommodation and support for homeless veterans. During the visit, a Dentaid mobile dental unit was deployed on-site to offer dental assessments and essential treatment to residents who may otherwise face significant barriers to accessing dental care.
The clinic was staffed by volunteer dental professionals, including dental clinician Ashley Watson and a volunteer dental nurse, who generously donated their time and expertise to support patients throughout the day.
Dentaid’s mobile dental clinics provide essential oral healthcare services to individuals experiencing homelessness, hardship, poverty, and abuse. By bringing treatment directly into communities, these clinics help address urgent dental needs and improve overall health and wellbeing for people who are often excluded from mainstream healthcare services.
Rainer Schlegel, Director of the Straumann Group Foundation, attended the visit and praised the impact of the initiative.
