Participants will attend a presentation on the basic principles of interdisciplinary treatment planning of orthodontics and restorative treatment. This course will explore the 3-minute orthodontic exam, and the common adult dental conditions that can benefit from orthodontic treatment and can facilitate restorative treatment plans. Focus will be given to clear aligner therapy and the use of aligners in the restorative treatment plan. Aligner design will be discussed to explore how to leverage aligner materials and designs to minimize treatment steps and the use of engagers. Special attention will be given to the importance of the aligner set-up and tools to use with case set-ups to facilitate pre-restorative treatment results. Strategies to help prevent aligner complications including posterior open-bites will be discussed. The program will discuss the phases of retention prior to and after restorative treatment.
